This little thing works just fine as a 4Gb Flash Drive does. The data/physical volume on the Drive pays for itself.
No breakdowns or any loss of perfomance or damange of the product has occurred so far since 6 months ago.
However, I do find the read/write rate to be considerable slow.
The P&P if this product can be deemed as a "rip-off", and this can apply to other flash drives being purchased on this website.
I don't know why P&P for these type of products are expensive.

I ordered a 2GB memory stick off Kingston a while ago, it's fine, cheap so I wasn't expecting anything amazing but it works alright, slow but not too bad. I remember being taken aback by the cost of p&p then. However, I ordered a 4GB memory stick off Kingston 10 days ago, was pretty annoyed that I had to pay a ludicrous £4.95 postage on this item (and how much does it cost to send an item as small and light as that in the post first class? Hardly anything, a first class stamp would probably cover it), anyway 10 days later and it still hasn't arrived! I have just received some generic insincere letter from the company who say I should allow 14 days for delivery, so why on earth am I paying £4.95 in the first place if it potentially could take so long? It's completely ridiculous - I would advise anybody to avoid giving Kingston any of their money and buy a memory stick off someone else. The whole thing just smacks of Kingston taking the p1ss. I will not be buying anything off them again.

Unlike some other reviews I did not find this product slow but it frequently broke down in that it would not recognise the files I was downloading or else it failed to recognise a folder in a file and shut down; I found it was flashing madly and had to withdraw it and then plug in again and repeat the download - but lately the computer has failed to recognise that the flash drive is plugged in and cannot find it. I threw it away in disgust.

I've always used Kingston. They simply don't go wrong, mine has lasted countless drops and knocks at the bottom of a full bag. I would give this 5 stars but there are some up and coming brands that are selling similar sized sticks for less, I'm not sure of the durability of the competitors though. 4GB allows storage of roughly 6nr avi films which is what I use it for mainly.

I have seen no speed issues between my Kingston Data Traveler 1GB and 4GB pens. Perhaps his 1GB pens are of a higher spec as Kingston supply a whole range of USB drives.
The 4GB is now exceptional value for money and I highly recommend it.
Disappointing.......2007-05-25
I have always used Kingston and wanted to upgrade my current 2x1gB for at least 2x4gB sticks.
I am very disappointed at the painfully slow speeds of this 4gB stick. The transfer rates are MUCH slower than on the 1gB and moving/copying larger (200mb+) is a task I won't be performing to often after my first attempt.
The size of the stick is the same as the 1gB.
The weight is the same.
Unfortunately my lid/cover won't stay on either but that's a minor issue.
Overall, 2/5.
I don't think I'll be sticking to Kingston in the future I'm afraid as this has serious rocked my confidence in them.
