It is a very nice memory stick but does not work with vista at all, you can only use the normal part of the drive, not the fingerprint protected part. Also you cannot even set up the fingerprints or settings. But it works fine with XP.

When I was looking for a new USB flash drive it had to be secure, and they don't come much more `James Bond' than this in that department.
The build quality is excellent and very neat. Various things could be better though. As can be seen in the pictures, it's actually in two parts connected by a wire. The problem with this approach is that when it's unplugged and slotted together, the wire is still visible and creates a loop, ideal for catching on something in my pocket and damaging the device. Why couldn't it be just one piece, with a plastic guard to protect the finger print sensor?
When it's plugged in for the first time, it's detected automatically and no additional software needs installing, which is what should be expected of devices these days. It then proceeds to initialise itself by scanning your fingers. This is very easy to use and is well thought out.
On subsequent plug ins, the standard Windows popup is displayed asking what it should do with the device. The only thing to practically do is run the program to allow the device to be unlocked, but for some reason the Windows option `Always perform this action' is greyed out! Once a finger is scanned and the device is unlocked, nothing happens. You have to then run Windows Explorer and navigate to the drive. Why not just open a new Windows Explorer process as part of the finger print scan? If the device is left plugged into the PC when it is rebooted, the drive has to be unplugged and plugged back in again to activate the finger print scanning software. I tried navigating to the drive instead, but it says the volume is not recognised and do I want to format it. One wrong click and the data is gone!
The device itself came from an Amazon Market Place supplier called Use My Memory. Good service, can't fault them really, though £4.50 postage for something that weighs about as much as a feather is a bit steep.
My final gripe is with Amazon and the whole Market Place thing. I'd never come across the Market Place products before, so I initially picked a series of products to get to the £40 mark where normally no postage has to be paid. But it ended up they were coming from a variety of different Market Place suppliers and not Amazon themselves, so the postage was a ridiculous amount. There are also Market Place suppliers selling items for 1p, then charging £6 postage per item taking the price to a realistic amount. I think the thing that annoyed me about this really is the fact I hate paying for postage, and with more things on Amazon not actually being sold by Amazon, it looks like free postage is on its way out.
In summary, the device could be better but its build quality and finger print scanning make it well worth the money.

If you need to store anything sensitive, why would you buy an ordinary flash drive, when you can have fingerprint security from SanDisk for hardly any more money?
Setting up your fingerprints is reasonably easy. If you include both thumbs, you can unlock it with your thumb in the same motion as plugging it into the USB port. Most times it recognises me almost instantly, first time - never more than 2 or 3 swipes.
It has worked immediately on every Windows PC I've tried (don't know about Linux). And its as fast a transfer rate as any I've seen. Until your fingerprint has unlocked it, Windows just sees it as an unformatted drive - and yes, if you accept Window's kind offer to format it, it IS write protected (I tested it).
On the downside :- The connecting wire could be a bit bulky and vulnerable for trouser pockets - I hang mine round my neck on the strap provided. And it is a bit wider than my previous SanDisk Cruzer, so blocks adjacent USB ports on my laptop.
If you can live with those restrictions, it's great.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting too much from this unit, however, it has really impressed me. For the little amount of £19.99, you get a USB pen drive, an mp3 player, an fm radio and a voice recorder! The sound is very sharp and the device comes with so many options that it is easy to enjoy it however you want. Uploading music onto it was simple, using either folders inside the pen drive or synchronising to Windows Media Player. I'm very impressed by this product, so much so that I have reccomended it to my friends.
Excellent for audio books.............2008-01-10
I was very pleased with this MP3 player. It plugs straight into your computer - no USB lead necessary. You also don't need to add any software to your computer or anything, just plug it in and it's ready. The sync time from Windows Media Player is very fast too (compared with two other MP3s that I've used).
I mainly use this for audio books and 1 GB is enough for one whole audio book (although if you want to store music files aswell I would buy the 2GB instead).
When switched on, it starts at the same place you switched it off at, so, for audio books, this is a real plus and removes the necessity for shuffling through folders and trying to remember which track/disc you were up to!
It's quite attractive and, like the previous reviewer, I see no problem at all with any of the switches/buttons, etc. They seem fairly sturdy to me (again, in comparison with other MP3s I've used).
I would highly recommend this product.

I ordered one of these, but it does not have any FM tuner. Apparently only US versions have an FM tuner, but this is omitted for all EU models.
Build quality was OK, the side buttons which some reviews have said are flimsy were fine.
I have since returned it, because the lack of an FM tuner impairs the value of this player.
The sound was OK, but not quite as good as my Creative player. I think that I will probably now purchase a Creative Zen Stone Plus instead.

I got this for my Olympus mju 400, having first checked with the chart on the Olympus website that it was compatible. The website said it was...
... but in reality it takes about 15 seconds to write to the card or for the camera to be ready when first switched on. That's no use.
So three stars. The card is probably top notch like most of SanDisk's gear, but it's of very limited use to me.

Great price got one for my Nikon D40 this card has a quick read/write speed writes raw file very fast, and I can plug the card straight into my Toshiba Satalite A100 with NO compatablity problems!

I bought the card for my digital camera, which it worked fine in, until i put the card in my USB card reader, and found that the computer couldnt read the card. I tried reading the card in both an Acorn RiscPC with RISC OS 4, and in an Apple MacBook with Mac OS X 10.4.
The RISC OS computer could sometimes read it, yet other times it would freeze when i tried to access the card. the Mac couldnt detect it at all, and the card could not be formatted using 'Disk Utility'. The card could be read however when i inserted the card in the camera and connected the camera to the computer. I've not tried the card in a PC yet, but I would assume that it would work.
I also have a FujiFilm SD card, which ive had for about 3 years, it can be read by any of the computers, and has never corrupted, lost files, or been incompatible.

My purchase was a re-order having been so pleased with the price, quality and delivery time of the previous purchase. I got this one to be able to upgrade my TomTom SAT NAV system with a new map. It works fine of course- this is a quality product. This size of card sells for 4 or more times this price on other sites and I have seen this exact card affectively 3 times this price when postage is taken into account.
If you need a 1GB card just buy it you won't regret it!

Combined with my Canon IXUS 800 IS, this is an extremely fast and efficient card.
I've had this card for about 4 months now and I haven't been disappointed so far, as all my pictures and video clips have transferred to the card without any errors or problems.
I will probably buy another one of these cards in the future as a back up to this one already bought.

Well I did buy this product even after reading the other reviews but I checked around and this is still much cheaper (as I only wanted the one card) so I only paid £5.30 including delivery. I can see where the others are coming from if you want to buy in bulk its costly. My advice, if you think its too good to be true then it usually is. Shop around before placing your order.

thinking i had come across a bargain i was soon proven wrong . 1gb sd memory card for 0.90p so i thought id get 2 expecting to be billed £1.80 plus a small amount for postage of say maybe £2 or £3 i was shocked to see my total cost came to £10.80 yes a £9 fee for postage . so glad i didn't proceed to purchase from this supplier

as with all SanDisk products, this is reliable and of a good quality. i would recommend the product certainly. however, the £0.95 price is misleading. a postage cost of £4.50 for something so small is ridiculous (on the same day mine arrived, i recieved a pair of PC speakers in a large box for £2.29 postage). this is misleading the buyer. however, it is still worth the combined price of around £5.50. buyers should realise that it's not the bargain it's made out to be before they buy, and they won't recieve any nasty shocks!

I bought this just the other day, and I am very pleased with the performance of it.
First of all for a 1gb and at nearly £6, thats worth it. I have had no trouble with it so far and its performance has not been slow at all. Its worked well the way I want it to and the product its self is small and does not feel cheap.

Just bought the Cruzer 1GB. Was attracted by the unbelievable price and Sandisk name (I have several of their products and they are very reliable). Was a bit skeptical as there are a few low star reviews in here but when i plugged it into my PC it worked perfectly straight away. I have taken the advice of a previous reviewer and formatted the disk removing all the pre-installed software so that it just becomes an extra drive (I have no need for the data encryption etc and the previous reviewer said it was the pre-installed software people had been having trouble with). Have used in in my laptop also and no problems. A great buy!

Bought this M2 2Gb Micro Memory Stick and it does everything is says. Plugged it into my Sony Ericsson phone and it worked first time.
Easy to copy all my music and photo's onto the larger memory stick from the supplied M2 adaptor from the supplied stick that came with the phone.
I've purchased Sandisk Memory sticks before and they've never let me down.
