Product Description
The new ultra-small memory card is designed to meet the growing storage needs of highly compact, multifunctional mobile phones.
An 'M2' adaptor in the size of a standard Memory Stick will allow users to exchange data to Memory Stick PRO compatible products.
The ?M2? media is approximately one-quarter the volume of ?Memory Stick PRO Duo? media, yet only about 1.2mm thick. ?M2? media is designed as an externally removable media with a controlled eject function to prevent users losing the media. Following the trend of mobile phones which operate at 1.8 volts, the ?M2? has been designed as dual-voltage media. With the Freecom DVB-T USB Stick, you can watch and record Freeview digital TV and Radio on your computer without monthly subscription.

In this case the user has the choice between "live" recording and convenient programming by means of the timer function. Fantastic Freecom.......2008-01-18
I had read the very mixed reviews about this, ranging from brilliant to useless but decided to try it. The instructions are a bit minimal but the CD loaded perfectly, I saved the PDF instructions (but haven't needed them) and then waited for the stick to find channels. I expected a non-event but instead was amazed when it found 66 stations, including all the expected Freeview channels and masses of digital radio stations. You just need to save the stations, click on the small TV screen, go to full screen and hit the return key to enlarge. Great picture and brilliant reception from the little aerial provided. First class product and good value.
wrong software.......2008-01-06
I purchased one of these some months ago. What i found was that the supplied software/driver was very poor. I only live 5 miles from one of the most powerful transmitters in the country and still had poor signal displayed and using a roof top aerial. BUT.. i searched around the internet for updated drivers. Freecom have software gateway where they provide drivers to authorised engineers/agents. On there are the correct drivers for this unit plus Toal Media 3. I managed to download these and they work beautifully giving strong signal readings. Altough using rooftop aerial will now try the supplied aerial.
Also the remote doesn't work well because the small hole drilled in the body of the unit that lets the IR signal in from remote control is not lined up with the IR receiver on the circuit board. If you gently drill out the hole and make it bigger you will see the receiver and discover whoever designed the body did not get the hole in the right place!
Overall a bit of mean ness on Freecoms part and shoddy design otherwise spoils a good unit. One * before sofware upgrade,**** after.
not bad.......2007-11-29
it ok for £22 but a few negatives
1)the areil suuplied probably wouldn't pick up any channels if you lived on top of a transmitter so you need to buy an extension lead to connet to out door ariel
2)even a small movement of the usb can affect the picture
3)the remote is not very usefull from more then a metere away as you need to aim it on a precise point on the usb stick for it to work
4)i was especially diappointed that although you can record a program you cant record one channel while watching another channel
otherwise its ok you get 30 tv channels that you can record with a quality picture.
Great with DVBViewer.......2007-11-23
I have used one of these gadgets for must be getting on 2 years now - on the roof arial via a 6 way booster. Don't be naive - nothing Digi will work on a six inch bit of wire! Alongside it, on another pc I run a Nebula DigiTV usb card that cost 3 time the price about 4 yrs ago. Since they have been mucking around with the frequences and strengths of the Waltham transmitter digital side, the Nebula pixelises Ch4 and associated channels whilst the Freecom is rock solid. As it's easier to spend 22 quid on another Freecom rather than stick a bigger arial on the roof another one is on its way.
For info I use XP - not tried Vista - the supplied Arcsoft software is c**p, expecially if you want to record radio as i do a lot. I use DVBViewer (GE version, but both pro and GE as good as each other). After trying all sorts this is the best third party software around - all for a tenner or so!.
If you want to use any third party software like DVBViewer you need to download the BDA drivers from Freecom. (files 00008584.zip)Install the stick with the BDA drivers like any usb device, not the supplied Arcsoft software. If using DVBViewer, download and install the free DScaler mpeg2 video decoder, the AC3 filter mpeg audio decoder and try using the vmr7 video mixing renderer if you get wavy lines, all set up under options/directshow. There you go a few tips to ease the pain:-)

Great tv/Great value.......2007-09-09
Recieved on time[good old amazon], took just 10 minutes to set up
it is fantastic, at present on analog[no freeview in my area]the picture is outstanding with just my rooftop arial, should have got one a long time ago, would recomend to anyone with a PC and no tv card, just plug in and it's all systems go.
But be careful with Vista.......2007-07-19
The product worked fine on my Dell with XP as its operating system.
I had to connect the main house aerial but thereafter picked up 66 channels.
However when I tried to use it with my new computer (also Dell) it gave a great picture but corrupted the DVD driver such that it disappeared.
I had to restore to prior to the software installation.
The remote control would not work either.
The lesson is that the software is just not compatible with Vista and this was confirmed by the Freecom. If you have Vista or expect to upgrade in the fore-seeable future then do not buy this product.
Dismayed optimist.......2007-01-08
I started off with high hopes, but...
My 9 month old Evesham PC with Windows XP Media Centre Edition (2002) SP2 and all updates warned me against loading the Stick's software because Microsoft had never heard of it, then created a recovery point when I went ahead regardless - just as well since, when using the software to scan for TV channels, it crashed the system. Repeated attempts to make sense of it over a period of about three hours all failed. A plea for help to Freecom Customer Service went unheeded for six days, so it was time to pack it up and return it to Amazon as 'incompatible with my system'.
If this Stick is incompatible with an up-to-date mainstream system like mine, just what is it compatible with?
Excellent - with external antenna.......2006-12-19
I've had one of these for over a year. There was no reception using the supplied baby antenna but once I had hooked it up to the household TV distribution system it picked up many stations (in what is said to be a marginal DTV reception area). don't expect the supplied antenna to work unless you live very close to a transmitter.
It is very useful to be able to work on the computer and have the TV running in the background. No longer do I have to spend time in another room watching a TV simply to wait for something like the weather forecast.
pretty good.......2006-10-16
I recieved the USB stick last friday and quickly had the installation done and was searching for channels. The first time i searched I only got about 35 channels but with some moving of the arial I now have 60+. Where I live not every channel works but there are many that do. Sometimes it does stutter a bit but other then that it works fine, and what can you expect for such a small thing. It may be bacause my computer doesnt meet the recommended spec so that could be a cause for the stutter.
The only thing i would like to see different is to be able to choose where you want you recordings. With the software it has to be in /my documents/my videos which is ok if you have alot of space on your drive but for me and maybe other people i would have prefered to be able to choose where i wanted them.
overall i am pleased with this and can recomend it!

Sweet.......2007-09-27
Ok, so it's not as good as my old solution which was two pci Hauppauge WinTV cards, but it's pretty close. Media Center works a treat. As long as you've got a good signal this product is a great way way of getting TV on your Vista Home Premium PC/Laptop, plus you get a remote control too.
Ok but not a show stopper.......2007-08-19
Diversity Works Well (but this involves both tuners working together to give the best signal possible) in Dual Mode it can't see any stations under Windows Media Centre. Perhaps this has to do in part with signal strength. No stations found when used in conjunction with included aerials - I don't know where you'd have to sit in order for these to work.

Sony USB Memory Stick - A Great alternative to Floppy Disks!.......2003-09-23
This is another great product from Sony. This adaptor device is magnificent, it saves the use of numerous floppy discs, providing that you have a Memory stick, as the transfer from PC - Storage is ultra fast! The only problem I seemed to have was the actual size of the device, as it is easy to lose! (but thank fully, I haven't lost it yet - touch wood!). All you simply do to use this product, is stick it into your USB port on your computer, and you can access, delete and add files to and from the memory stick itself.
A great new toy from Sony.

Good product, some caveats.......2007-10-28
When the product arrives, it is difficult to believe that the aerials which are only 10cm tall can provide any reception at all. The remote control is even smaller, about 5cm but still usable.
On my upstairs XP computer, it installed well and all Freeview channels were picked up immediately and without problems.
I then decided to install it on my new Vista computer downstairs. Please watch out: the disk is for XP only and it causes nothing but trouble on a Vista computer as I found out. You have to download a 140MB file from the internet, fine if you have broadband but perhaps a bit much for dial up. The reception downstairs (thick walls, large brick fireplaces near the computer) was very poor. Only about 10 channels were available. Sound was fine but the picture was near non-existent. I happened to have a simple plastic £10 Argos TV aerial which I plugged into the socket and once I had done this, all channels were back up and quality was good.
My advice therefore is: if you value compactness and reception is good then this is a great product. If not, you will need a different aerial. In that case you may want to choose a product without the 'Diversity' aerials.
