Bluetooth headset.......2007-07-02
Before I bought this plantronics 510 headset I had a free one with my phone, I could'nt here people very well so I bought this plantronics one. I am very please with it because I do alot of miles up and down the country I needed to here people properly this fits the bill. You can here people very clear there is no interference with this bluetooth so I would recommend this to anybody.
Have had many problems.......2007-06-08
I am a management consultant so travel a lot and make many business calls from the car including many conference calls with colleagues so noise cancelling is critical. At first it seemed to work quite well, but then I was getting complaints of intereference. I tried it myself and using my voice mail and found it had developed some sort of fault of generating so much static it was hard to hear my voice. I duly returned it, but have found the replacement very poor. On most conference calls I am the one asked to go on "mute" because the it seems to pick up and amplify any sort of background noise. Perhaps these are issues with my individual headset, but I am not trying a third one. I have found the Nokia HB900 to be ok (I bought one and it was stolen so I returned to the 510 for a while and it has not improved, I am on amazon ordering a new Nokia, but thought I would share my experience at the same time.)
The only upside is they replaced the first one pretty promtly so good customer service.
A flawed design?.......2007-02-15
Owned this for about 6 months and in day to day use it was great. Very light, good battery life.
However, because I used it daily, I was in the habit of alternating which ear I used it in to keep aural balance. This necessitates rotating the extended microphone arm. Over time this has resulted in the wiring, which I have discovered is all packed in around the swivel joint, from becoming snagged and sheared by the arm, rendering the unit useless.
So, a decent unit providing you don't swivel the microphone arm.
Great Product.......2006-11-21
I bought this headset because of the claimed 'noise reduction' technology, and because I needed something light with long battery life. I cannot recommend this highly enough, I frequently use the headset during long walks with my dog, in all weathers, and both transmission and reception is excellent. Typical battery life seems to be around 3 days without charging (and with frequent use), and it is so comfortable I often forget I'm wearing it. Outstanding product for anyone using their phone outside - no downside.
great product but could be improved.......2006-08-19
Like other reviews I have to agree that this is a great product. It's comfortable, sound is excellent and good battery life. Why not 5 points? Well, it has two shortcomings. One, the light flashes to tell you that the battery is running out. Not of much use if you are wearing it at the time. An audable signal would be much more useful. Two. I bought this because it will connect with two phones at once, which it does. The instructions and plantronics website make no mention of the fine detail of how this works. When you press 'redial' on the headset for example, which phone might it redial the number on? Not necessarily the last phone you made a call on. Also, it doesn't handle voicedial very well. Great for handling incoming calls on two phones but not great if you need to make a lot of calls while driving.
Product Description
The ultimate VOIP-optimised Bluetooth headset solution, with seamless sharing between a mobile phone and PC.
The Plantronics Voyager 510 headset with it's noise cancelling microphone and Windsmart technology provides excellent sound quality and allows seamless headset sharing between a mobile phone and PC.
The Plug-and Play USB Voice adaptor allows Bluetooth headset use with a PC, without the hassle and complexity of loading any Bluetooth drivers. VoIP services (including Skype) are supported through a software application called PerSonoCall and the headset offers up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours standby time. Even when the headsets 6 hour talk time is exhausted, a compact USB travel charger completes the package.
Apart from the seamless integration of mobile and VoIP, the other important feature is comfort. All the electrics are built into a unit that sits behind the ear, so it's perfectly comfortable to wear. The earbud is non-obtrusive and rests on the edge of your ear, and the microphone boom hardly sticks out at all.
You can answer and terminate mobile calls by pressing a button and, if you're using VoIP while a mobile call comes in, quickly swap between the two without having to worry about re-pairing your devices.
Box Contents:
- Voyager 510 headset
- USB Dongle (the dongle enables the pc to transmit Bluetooth)

Disappointing at 10 metre.......2007-09-21
Had high hopes that this would banish the need for a skype phone and allow me to be handsfree. Plug in and play and installed with skype like a dream.
However was crestfallen to note that I could not leave the vicinity of the computer and roam my small home. I think it is doubtful that it offer 10m bluetooth 'roaming'. Sent it back and got myself a netgear dulaphone and I am very happy as it has speakerphone and a headset jack option.
Not bad....but not great.......2007-09-08
Purchased this with great expectations, unfortunatley feel a little let down. Have problems connecting with dongle each time machine is restarted and now exp white noise interference.
Fantastic but BT dongle supplied doesn't work with Vista.......2007-08-06
Great device with XP, but BE WARNED - the supplied BT dongle doesn't work under Vista. The 'Plantronics BT Adapter' refuses to install. Have tried all the usual tricks for getting troublesome USB devices to install but no joy. It seems I'm not alone in having this problem, and Plantronics support are being unhelpful by telling me it's a OS problem, not theirs. Especially when I can see from this board and others there's a suggestion about different firmware versions and compatibility. I will call them again and update this review with the results.
So potentially a great product but let down by incompatibility and poor customer service (so far).
-----------------------
08 August 2007 UPDATE:
Just spoke to Plantronics who inform me that this headset is NOT COMPATIBLE with Vista, period. They pointed out (quite correctly) that it does state in very small print on the box "Windows XP/2000 Required", and that the product I should have bought is the new 910 model, which is Vista compatible. Presumably this comes with the new BT dongle. So I'm returning the 510 to Amazon as I speak. However, Amazon should state this quite clearly on the item!
Technology that rocks.......2007-05-25
I've had this headset for about 4 months now, I am using it all the time with Skype, and I really love the flexibility it gives me while talking. I find it comfortable to wear, battery lasts for at least 5hrs, it's easy to recharge, quality of the calls is good, the signal is good enough to enable me to walk around my single bedroom flat while talking, and it's small enough to take it on trips. Never had any software problems. It is a bit pricy, but if you are using Skype a lot, it's well worth the investment. Recommended!
Great product, but some versions may not work with Vista.......2007-05-07
Couldn't be happier with the quality of this piece of kit; it works as well as any other with most PC bluetooth stacks but, better still, works flawlessly with the supplied dongle with no pairing or drivers required. Sound quality is what you would expect from a small headset, but noticeably better than the previous Jabra 250 I was using. I've had great success using it with Ventrilo on my Windows XP PC, on a Nokia 6230i, and with Skype on a Dell Axim X50.
Unfortunately mine (bought in January 2007) does not install correctly under Vista which is the only reason it doesn't get the full 5 stars. Plantronics support have confirmed to me today that some versions of the dongle are not compatible with Vista - there should be a version number to the right of the product label on the adapter; if it is version 1p23, then this is compatible, if it is 1p15 (or anything else), this is not compatible. Of course, there is no way to tell for certain whether the one supplied here will be the correct version but if it is new stock, it should be.
If, like mine, the adapter is not compatible I would advise contacting Plantronics support as they appear to be doing their best to resolve problems - mine should be sorted very soon and although there was some delay in the initial response, follow-ups have been very quick (especially since it's a Bank Holiday) and I'm quite happy with their support on this issue.

Brilliant Camera.......2008-01-17
This is a brilliant camera. I've had it for a couple of months now and taken photos in a variety of different weather and light conditions. I have yet to have a bad shot nor problems with the equipment. I shopped around quite a bit and finally decided on the Olympus over a comparable Nikon. I'm delighted that I did - I couldn't be happier.
Olympus E-510 Package.......2008-01-03
Having bought one at Christmas I have just had a few days in the Lake District with the camera. I am delighted with the handling of the camera and lenses and the image quality is superb. I am really pleased with this buy and can strongly recommend it.
Spoilt for choice.......2007-12-30
Having decided to buy a digital SLR since the middle of 2007 and having read numerous reviews, I finally decided to buy the Olympus E-510 twin lens kit in December. The camera does what it says on the box and is a brilliant piece of engineering. I am still working my way through the instruction booklet that came with it, the results so far are beyond all expectations.
Europes BEST SLR for a reason!.......2007-12-04
After I read a couple of reviews on this camera I had a look in a shop.
I must admit I own a couple of olympus compacts but making a good SLR that competes with Canon and Nikon is another thing.
When this got voted European camera of the year bu EISA I decided to buy it and I could not be happier with the results.
The main things I like are the built in image stabiliser which works with any lens I put on there!
It also has 'live view' which is great, it works like a normal digital camera so you can see the picture on the large screen.
Really could not recommend it more.
What a Camera.......2007-08-24
If you want a superb camera you cannot get anything better.....at the moment.I can't fault it,if you can afford one you will not be disapointed.

TomTom GO 510/710/910 Deluxe Leather Case.......2008-01-10
This case does not fit the TomTom 710. Yes its may be well made, but pointless if it does not fit the item it was designed for!! this is the possibly the reason that they are selling them off Cheap.
Nice case, shame I can't use it.......2007-12-27
This case is lovely. However I bought it for my TomTom GO 520 and unfortunately I can't get it to fit into the case no matter how hard I try.
At least I didn't waste much money.
Superb quality........2007-12-11
This oozes quality, a luxury case indeed, but strong as well to protect Sat Nav from harm.
I thought the rear might have opening to allow car mount to attach while still in case, sadly it does not. Yes you can use it in the case, but you cannot charge battery at the same time.
Five stars+++++++++++++++++++.
Nice if you lose your original case - a bit fussy otherwise.......2007-02-25
This leather TomTom case is beautifully made and reeks of luxury. I bought one because I foolishly lost the original case. That's it really. It's got a nice flip down front lid so that you can use your TomTom while on foot, without exposing it to the elements, and it's got a nice little holder for what appears to be a business card but is allegedly for a memory card. Rather more usefully, it comes with a strap, which was the real downside of the original case.
I have to say that, if there were a cheaper case available like the original one, I would have bought that. Don't get me wrong -- this one is really nice. It's just that, well, deluxe leather is a luxury that I don't really need.

Customer Reviews:
Nice one Olympus.......2007-09-16
Nice little camera from Olympus. Very easy to use. I bought this camera to begin in digital photography, without spending a fortune on a digital SLR first. I like the camera a lot and use it whenever I can. I recommend this camera as a high-end "point-and-shoot" but its not for the serious amateur wanting to develop their skills. A very good asset to this camera is that the four AA batteries last a long time and they are very cheap and plentyful. A very nice camera for that "take-anywhere" imaging device. Downside? A somewhat jittery electronic viewfinder.
I still use a 35mm SLR film camera for my serious work and will be upgrading to a digital SLR in 2008. Although not retiring my film camera completely.

Easy Camera to Use.......2007-08-17
I bought this camera at the begining of the year, now I am no David bailey but it has been great for me taking pictures for my website and with a little tweaking they are pretty good check out innocentcharms.co.uk to see results. I mean its nothing in comparision to my hubby's Nikon but if you want something with a great sized screen and not to difficult this is a bragain.
Very Cool.......2007-05-14
I bought this camera 2 weeks ago. I went to do some quad and speed boat with it and it didn't disapoint me at all! It is a very good camera, especially for the price, even though some pictures can be noisy because of the lens. I wouldn't recommand this camera to professionals of course, nor to people who master photography and want perfect detailed pictures.
But for someone like me who doesn't even know how to use 50% of the thing it can do, it's perfect. I'd say it's the perfect 1st high spec digital camera....
Easy to use but grainy results.......2007-02-20
Bought this camera to use as a general snapshot product. Very easy to use and has some great little tricks like image stabiliser. However, be warned. If you use this under low light conditions (e.g. indoors in a standard lit room next to a window) the results are very grainy. Would recommend for a low res camera but not if you want sharp details.
Top spec.......2007-02-11
If your like me and don't really care too much for the exact detail of a camera then this is a great camera to get at a great price.
I previously had a 2mp camera and was becoming frustrated with the fact that my phone was better than the camera! So i decided i needed to change. One of the first things i considered when browsing was the quality for price difference. Some cameras were ridiculously priced for a pretty poor spec. This one has 7.1 megapixels (more than i'll ever need, for now!)and 10x optical zoom! for those who don't know optical zoom is about the quality you can get when zoomed in on an object, the higher the number the better quality the picture will be. So this camera meets my spec exactly and at £160ish it is a steal!
If you are looking for quality at a cheap price look no further as this camera has it all. Be sure to get a good size picture card aswell as it is not included! Batteries (4 AA) are included however you may want to splash out on rechargeable batteries to save you buying a mountain of batteries to carry around with you!

Customer Reviews:
Does exactly what its designed for........2007-12-31
I recieved this as a gift and am delighted with all aspects of this device. I note various complaints on the product-
But a)If people cannot work a suction on the end of the device SHOULD THEY BE DRIVING ANYWAY- Probably not.
b) Unit switches itself off- Mine doesnt- TomTom would have tested this product for such errors- Therefore few and far between.
The maps are clear( some errors with roads but use common sense)
Bluetooth works well- Website lists all compatatle phones.
I recommend this product for people that can use electronic equipment without moaning about the tinist of things.
Third time unlucky.......2007-11-06
We are just about to take our THIRD Tom Tom 510 back this time for a refund. After moving to a new area and borrowing our friends 510 we decided to invest in one. The first one froze after 3 days leaving us with a white screen. We returned it for a replacement only for the 2nd one to freeze after a week after turning itself off. We took that one back for a refund but after looking around at the other Sat Navs on the market decided that we had perhaps just been unlucky and maybe it was the shop that had a bad batch (yeah right!). We went to a different shop to purchase one and for 8 months now have had no problems...until we could not turn the 510 on one day. After ringing Tom Tom I was asked if I had ever updated using Tom Tom Home (I had not but didn't realise I had to!) so after being assured that this was the answer to all my problems I tried to update. And failed miserably!! Where does it say that you have to update using your PC for the Tom Tom to work? And why hasn't it mended my Tom Tom?! I also tried to reboot it using the little whole at the back but this didn't work either and why should I have to do this??!! Therefore the Tom Tom will be going back (thank goodness for the years warranty!!) and we will be trying another brand. I hasten to add that none of our Sat Navs came from Amazon but I wanted other users to heed my warning!!
My honest opinion........2007-10-31
I've had this particular version now, for about 3 months and would like to share my thoughts ...
1st off - if you read other reviews you'll hear a load of complaints, let me put my perspective on things;
- Car mount cradle. So far I've had no real issues. It can be a bit fiddly to actually mount as you have to twist part of it to lock it into place, but I've done it a few times now and takes no more than about a minute. I've had no issues with its rigidity or the unit slipping at all and have been satisfied with it in every way.
- Taking a while to lock on. Recently a quick-fix has become available which you can download through the TomTom Home application on your PC. I update this every few weeks or so and it'll acquire a signal in a few seconds. 1 word of warning though (as with most GPS devices) using it inside of buildings / tunnels can mean a loss of signal. But if you're using it for what it's designed for, you'll be fine in my opinion.
- Screen brightness. I've only once had an issue trying to see the screen and that was on a very sunny day and it was shining right on the face of the unit. Can't do much about that, but to be honest with it speaking the directions, you should be able to pretty much get about until you turn away and the sun shines elsewhere.
My gripes;
- I was hoping for a sat nav, which contained a list of the mobile sites as well and designated them as `hot spots' or something, so I at least had an idea. Thankfully I've not been caught yet as I'm pretty sensible, but it's a bit of a pain in my mind. I would like to say that the marketing literature says it'll do it, so perhaps I'm missing a trick, but I can't see where to turn this feature on (if it exists).
- Speed Camera updates. You get a 1-month trial with the unit, thereafter you have to pay a yearly subscription - so be warned. Also, they really aren't that up to date with any of the road work cameras you get all over the place now. Classic example is the road works on the M1 between junctions 31 and 32. It's a 50 mph average trap and the cameras TomTom says are there have been moved further up or back and it's a bit of mess. Overall a little disappointed with this aspect.
- Bluetooth phone support. If it's not on their list, expect problems. The amount of times I get it working for several journeys and then inexplicably it stops working I'd hate to think about. Usually means deleting it from the TomTom and then re-setting the connection up. Most frustrating.
- Mapping. It's a bit hit and miss again. My example is on the A1 when it meets the A1M right at the top of the M1. The road must have been changed well before I got my device as although the whole system looked new, you could tell it'd been there for a while. TomTom thinks you're in a field for about 5 miles, which is quite annoying. Also, I was in Liverpool the other week and it told me to turn left at the top of a road, when it'd been closed to traffic turning in that direction. Again by the looks of the central reservation blocking me, it'd been there for a while. Also, the speed limits of roads can be a bit hit and miss.
All in all, a pretty good unit with some flaws. Is it worth buying ... if I had my time again I'd likely go with a Garmin or a Strabo, but I'm not rushing out to buy a new one, when I've got a good few years of use left in what is otherwise a pretty good product.
load of rubbish.......2007-08-16
Sorry to be so negative but have had nothing but trouble with the Tomtom go 510 since I bought it a few months ago. The power lead doesn't fit properly, it is too loose, and so it is difficult to charge up. It takes ages to lock onto satellites once turned on so you have to factor in an extra 5 minutes before setting off. It doesn't stick to the the windscreen on my car very well (VW Golf) and regularly comes clunking off and turns itself off. Worst of all, it has twice tried to make me take a right turn where it has not been allowed (and has not been allowed for several years according to locals). I now only use the thing when I am on my own in a new area, otherwise my husband and I prefer to rely on paper maps and signs!!
TOM TOM 510 REVIEW.......2007-08-16
It does exectly what the advertising says, it works straight out of the box with no problems. However, as the built-in mapping & camera software WILL be slightly out-of-date, I recommend that you install the software CD-ROM onto your computer, connect your 510 and go to the Tom Tom website where it will check the installed software on the 512Mb flash card. It will then tell you what updates you require and you just select the ones you require.
Then the software gives you the option to make a backup which it places onto your computer. I bought a spare 512MB flash card then dragged & dropped the backup files onto it in Windows Explorer. Now you have a spare card in case the supplied Tom Tom card gets damaged.

Basic DECT phone, what more do you want?.......2007-06-01
This nice simple phone seems to tick all the boxes but one, you can't wall mount the base unit. The usual DECT features are there, allowing it to integrate with other brands in a multi-phone house. Range is good, speech is clear, ringer is boring but sufficient. The rechargeable batteries are a standard size type and shape, therefore easy to replace should they age. It claims big buttons, but I would say they are the right size and most other cordless phones have tiny buttons. The display is perhaps a bit narrow on the shape of the characters, but quite readable. The memory system is a bit complicated for the less technical, but then you don't have to use it.
The BB510 is good enough and cheap enough I added a twin pack to end up with three handsets but a REN of just 2.

It's a remote.......2005-11-15
At first I thought, a remote's a remote. But then one day my brother brought this home and it changed the way we lived our lives.
The buttons press magnificently, with great ease and precision. It will work at many angles to the IR port of your choice, for example, 27.5 or 43.2.
No longer do I get cramps from having to get up to change the channel. It has relieved a lot of stress from my life and I am a happier and more fulfilled person as a result.
Everyday I hold this remote high in the air and shout "I, I am a free man"
