The height of technology.......2007-12-27

I bought this camera as a little thing my wife could slip into her handbag. On closer inspection (Christmas day) I found it to be better spec than my Fuji S5000 (Full sized Digital SLR). The positive points are many but the main plus points are;
1. An inbuilt automated instruction manual which clearly shows the available modes and what they do/can be used for.
2. It's image stabilisation system has to be seen to be believed! I was vigourously shaking the camera up and down/left to right in low light conditions. The camera was still able to, focus and shoot the picture in PERFECT clarity. When switched on the DIS (Digital Image Stabiliser) makes blurred pictures impossible to produce!
3. The sheer user friendlyness of the whole thing! My wife picked it up and was not only shooting great pictures (and video) but was playing with the different modes (she's a AUTO only person normally) to produce different effects.
As the price of this range of cameras has dropped, I would recommend this particular camera to ANYONE, from the complete novice (ideal) to the person who would like to experiment a little more.

It works a treat.......2007-08-08

Took the plunge to try and sort our my remote mess in the living room. Been looking around at a few products which will do the trick and decided to go for the Harmony 785 (Has got a colour screen and rechargable battery & docking station). Set up was not as bad as I expected. You have to know what make/model your TV, DVD etc are and once you have enetered those it downloads the Infra Red codes to the 785. The activities are the best (upto 6 personalised) e.g If I want ot watch a DVD it will switch on the TV, DVD AMP etc in the correct order and inputs so it all works. If I then want to watch Sky it will switch off the DVD and switch on the Sky box and set the correct inputs. 0800 number support as well, just in case.
