As good as I thought it would be........2008-01-23
I've had an iPod 80GB for about 4 weeks now, and it continues to impress me.
Good points:
- It looks great (I have the black model), even better than the 5G because of the all metal casing, and is thin and lightweight.
- A lot of people have problems with the sound, both quality and volume. I must say I have found both fine. I'm no audiophile, but it sounds just as good as my last mp3 player (a Creative). No doubt a good pair of headphones would improve matters a bit -- the sound coming from the player itself is good, and comes over very well when connected to my separates.
- Battery life is exceptional. After a full charge on the first day, I've only sporadically charged it during syncing. That's with something between 2 and 5 hours a day usage.
Bad points:
- I found the head phones too small to stay in my ears, although that's quite personal. Some people find the opposite... Was easily fixed with some foam caps.
Overall, I'm very impressed. As for scratching, apparently it's easily susceptible. I don't have any on mine so far, and can recommend Fabrix cases.

Before buying something like an iPod it's very important to research. That's why I have scant sympathy for those who complain about a lack of power charger (only USB charger included) and crap headphones with it. It clearly states on Apple's site and others that the iPods do NOT come with a mains charger, so if you buy an iPod then complain it's your own fault. The included headphones are indeed shockingly bad, but then 90% of "included" headphones with MP3 players are bad. As you can grab good 'phones for a tenner and upwards that isn't a problem (and most people own decent headphones anyway).
I've had mine since Christmas and I've had no problems with it. It took a while to get Vista to recognise it but now it does, and that's a Vista issue not an iPod one. The battery life is very long (~24 hrs) unless you watch videos, in which case it's more like 4 hours, so if you're considering an iPod just or mostly for the video I'd suggest you check out Creative players instead. However, the video playback itself is great and music is done through the familiar iPod/iTunes interface. The unit looks good and is surprisingly tough for something so slim.
4 stars because of the slightly low battery life when watching videos, and because the included headphones are crap. Great otherwise!

Excellent device.......2008-01-22
I bought this two weeks ago to replace my old Sony MP3 player which had started to play up. It is the first time I have owned an ipod and I am so impressed! It's beautiful, easy to use, fairly lightweight (I use it a lot running) and the sound quality is superb. I-tunes is brilliant - very easy to set up and user-friendly to use once you have. The video quality is great too considering the screen size. I would highly reccomend!

worth every single penny... £144 is an absolute bargin trust me. I did a lot of research and this rightly came out on top. The battery life is fine (may go down in time?) but that's a small risk compared to what you are getting here. Brilliant video quality and I noticed an improvement in sound quality (from my ipod mini). Black is of course the way to go =D looks great, perfect size and all my friends are jealous! when you're 17 and everyone in college has an mp3 that's no easy feat either haha!

Really good iPod but not so good for videos etc.......2008-01-20
I only use my iPod nano for music because I have no need to watch videos on the go, but I think its a really great little gadget. Before receiving it for christmas Id been using my minidisc player and wondered what all the fuss was about. But when i got my ipod I realised it was brilliant! Its so tiny and holds plenty of songs, although for real music buffs Id recommned a higher memory.
I dont watch videos or TV shows on my iPod because Id rather use the space for music, and you can only get about a film and a half on there.
So, to sum up Id say this iPods great for people without a huge music library but if you want to get over a thousand songs or films on there, buy the 8gb!

Okay I have to admit that when I first got my 8GB ipod it broke on me, however once I installed the latest firmware onto it, by jingo it worked again (worth investigating if you too are having probelms.) Other than that I really can't fault the ipod nano 3G at all, it has everything you could possibly need, plus you now have the option of playing videos on it. Okay, so at the moment there's not much choice on iTunes for videos but it's rumoured to be getting much better soon. The coverflow album selector is really very cool as are the new games that offer far more longevity than the previous nanos. All in all it's a big improvement and it just looks so very cool.

Looks nice, but hard to control by the awful touch pad, the sound is better than Nano2 but still on a poor level compare with other Vidio Players

I can't fault this memory stick, it's large enough to back up all my uni work and still have space for videos, music and pictures. As far as i'm aware you can also run programs off the memory stick, but haven't tried it for myself.

What can I say?! Recieved it a week ago and have already fallen in love with it!
I must admit that there are a few bad points about it which I will now state:
* wasn't aware that I needed the itunes for it to sync correctly
* can't download DVD's without having to buy a separate piece of software
* no real help as to how to use it is given by the manual though after a while you pick it up!
that is it =]
The quality of all the features is amazing though. I am currently typing this whilst on it, it is that simple. I have also been using this for MSN via the site Meebo! I was absolutely shocked as to how good this actually is.
However, I wouldn't reccommend buying the software upgrade as I can't really see the use in most of the new current applications!

I've never owned an iPod and generally Apple irritates me but playing songs off my Nokia N95 was kiiling the battery so I tried the Touch out in the Apple store and thought I'd give it a try.
Let it be said I LOVE my iPod touch. I won't bore you with details except to say that it looks as good, it's touch screen is as bright and as responsive and it's playback is as good as everyone says. The 16GB of memory is great for me and I've just bought the software upgrade, more for the notes app than anything else.
Things to note (particularly if you've never owned an iPod):
You need to charge it from a USB port on your PC, a mains charger would have been great.
If you have movies you want to convert for the iPod you need a converter programme. They are easy to find and to use.
The earphones are ok but I would highly reccommend new ones, I got Sanhuiser X300's which sound much better and don't cost the earth.
Get a cover and put it on ASAP! I used - Shieldzone - the Invisible shield Full Body Protection - Apple Ipod Touch (copy and paste into search) because once on you can't even tell and it works like a dream.
These are minor things, it's amazing, works well, and you will win the cool stakes against any other player hands down.

Poor sound lets down otherwise neat item.......2008-01-12
I bought one to partner the Itube amp. The biggest let down is sound quality. Its passable with headphones, but put into a decent hi fi and its totally disappointing. The vocals are suppressed and their is no musicality about the sound, the soundstage is poor and its a total disappointment each time I use it. I tried my old Ipod nano and it sounds better. Researching this on the web many people share my view and recommend getting a 5th gen ipod or a nano if decent sound is a requirement. I keep thinking of returning it to amazon, in some ways I cant be bothered with the hassle, but I probably should. My advice, ok for the train or non fussy teenagers, but not if you have a inkling of decent sound quality.

This by no mistake is a fantastic bit of kit, enough music, movies, photos etc to last a very very long time at 3/4 full i have enough music to last over a month of continual sounds. The battery seems good so far although if you play games for example the bright screen does lessen this a fair bit. it's a feat to get an 80gb drive into something this size but my gripes are as follows.
I can only charge from the computer. l had 3rd generation ipod which i dropped down the loo but all my plug in , car, battery pack, alarm clock and boom box don't seem to charge the classic. This is a big big pain, it's hard to see why, with the same connecter, this does not work.
The hard drive can be quite slow mounting/un-mounting etc this may not seem that suprising with such a big drive but it's worth bearing in mind. One other bonus is the games are very good poker graphics great (3rd party)

I bought this camera because my old one was a bit rubbish and I wanted to be able to take nice picture because I take a lot of pictures. I'm not any professional and don't know much about cameras but picked this one because of the reviews, large lcd screen and the fact that its a canon product. I am very impressed with it! It's teeny tiny, and very simple to use. The quality is amazing. It makes my drunken snaps look very artistic! Loads of people have commented on my pictures, especially when using colour accent which is amazing! You can pick out one colour in a photo n the rest is black n white.Its brilliant if you want to make something stand out like a colourful piece of jewellery or a tshirt. It also has a very clever thing where you can make your skin tone darker in a picture. A digital tan! Very cool. I bought to go with this product the recommended canon soft leather case, which fits perfectly. A sandisk 2gb sd card, which according to the camera will hold a few hundred pics. I also bought a spare battery. The battery life is quite good, but I use cameras a lot and like making videos n stuff, so that runs it down a bit. Its handy to keep a spare.I'm also planning on buying a gorillapod, which is a flexible tripod that will stand firm on any surface, and you can even bend the legs round trees n stuff! I've decided to get a tripod, because I dont have a steady hand, which means I sometimes get blurred pics.

Ordered my ixus 75 lunchtime tuesday and it arrived the next morning. camera is an absolute beauty you will not be disappointed by its performance. I have had numerous other digital cameras such as a fujifilm, samsung, sony but this is by far the best I have used.

The large 3" LCD screen was a influencing factor when choosing this camera. It has proved to be an excellent choice pocket sized camera.
Picture quality is superb withot altering any settings. The only down side is the battery/memory card cover which is not as robust as it could be.

Decided to upgrade my Canon Powershot A75, thats only a few years old. This model is much smaller and much easier to carry about (even fits in your pocket with a case) which means that its more likely to get used rather than leaving on the side !! Very easy to use and battery life much better than the 4AA's that the Powershot uses in seconds ! Picture quality is really good and screen size is fantastic to view what you've shot. At this price can't find a fault
