Great camera - shame about my friend!.......2007-07-27

This is my 4th digital camera as i keep braking them and this one is no different - however it was my fault! I had dropped it spilt stuff on it etc etc and it withstood it all on nights out, but my friend thought it would be funny to put an ashtray in my bag and when i later dropped my bag the LCD smashed. The camera is so robust that even tho the screen is smashed it still takes pics - i just can't see them!

Before i broke it - I'd say: - Good LCD screen, could see it in bright sunlight; good at taking night shots (eg in clubs etc); good scene selection.

Only drawback was it seems quite slow to take some pics - have to hold the button down for ages sometimes if not pressed hard enough - but the shots are usually worth waiting for!

I'm considering getting another one as i've had two sony cybershots and the lenses ceased to work on one and the image stabliser and flash broke on the other then i had a sanyo xacti and that lcd smashed with a small bump!

The Pentax Optio W20 is one of the cheapest completely waterproof digital cameras available - available from only £[...] you'd be tempted to think that Pentax have made compromises in order to get the price so low - thankfully this isn't the case. Pentax have done an excellent job making a compact and easy to use digital camera full of features. Some you wouldn't expect to see on a compact point and shoot, such as manual focus, custom white balance, video recording with optical zoom and digital anti-shake. The camera doesn't compromise on image quality either, with good results available, especially if you spend a lot of time outdoors or taking macro photos. The only weakness was the camera's higher than average noise when taking photos indoors. If you're looking for a compact, waterproof, 7 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom lens, and a 2.5" screen, then the Pentax Optio W20 is a great choice. Good rugged little snapper.......2006-11-29

I've had this camera for about 2 years now and have tried it underwater to it's limits. It's held up well to just being carried in my pockets and though the body is a bit scratched the lens and lcd are in good shape. I've taken pictures with it balanced on the bottom of the red sea (about 1m down) and at various reefs. It performs well and loves it when the light is good. It's not as good in low light and I've got to say the throw away factor (how many of my pics I have to discard due to blur etc) is slightly higher than with the last Kodak I used but the fact I can shoot underwater makes up for it.

I recently got a bit of water in it due to a small bit of sand being between the battery door and the body though I had locked it so watch out for this. The lens misted up and water was seen on the inside of the lcd. Incredibly I just left it in the sun for 4 hours with the battery door wide open and it now works fine apart from the flash no longer firing. But Pentax said I could send it in and they'd give me a quote to fix it.

Pros: Continuous shooting till card is full, robust, well exposed pictures in good lighting, just carry it anywhere, underwater pics, battery life ok but carry a spare.

Cons: More throw away pics than average, following a moving subject (try chasing a fish underwater) difficult with no viewfinder and hard to see in bright light. ISO 400 and above has too much noise to be much use. Night shots limited to 4 secs at f3.3

As far as waterproof TV's go this is great value for money. A nice picture and good sound with the speakers supplied. Where the TV looks cheap is in the finishing touches. The chrome surround has small dints on all 4 sides where the plastic mould has not set quickly enough. If you look closely at the picture you can also see that the margin on the right is bigger than the margin on the left so the screen appears off centre.

I couldn't believe the price of this waterproof TV. I have been looking for something for the bathroom but this wasn't quite big enough so I bought the TechVision 10.4" for the bathroom and installed this one in my en-suite. The picture and sound quality are great and the TV itself looks really nice.
