Came to Amazon when let down by smaller suppliers and as ever Amazon proved reliable and efficient. (N.B. this TV was £400 pre Xmas!!)

The TV itself is great, albeit the freeview as mentioned can be grainy and the response time of the remote is slow. However watching tv through the sky+ digibox is as good a picture as my old panansonic CRT once we got the settings sorted out, which can be fiddly, and the gamer mode in HD for the XBOX 360 is incredible - Call of Duty 4 is scary!!

Overall a great little TV and for the money as good as anything around - we did our research.

i bought this tv a couple of months ago and have been very impressed by it. the speakers are not the best in the world but you dont expect it from a flat screen lcd tv. im using it for my ps3 set up and must say im extremely impressed by the hd experiance this tv offers. if you go to a main store anywhere and see this next to other hd tv's you will see the difference in quality immediatly and pin point this is the best one by a mile!

Beautiful - but watch out!.......2007-11-27

I received this TV from an Amazon supplier this week, after a very quick and efficient sales process.

It's a beautiful piece of tech to look at, very nicely made, and the picture is great, particularly with higher quality sources (it makes you realise how variable the different Freeview channels are.)

Although having separate menus for the TV itself and Freeview is unfortunate, it's not a major issue.

However, the sound is generally not great, and I've since plugged this straight into a hifi. Considering the tv is only in my kitchen, I didn't expect to have to do that! Radio channels sound lovely through the internal speakers, but tv speech booms and distorts quite often at very moderate volume levels.

There's one other issue to watch out for, which may be common to many lcds. I'm wall mounting the tv, and bought a lovely slim Hama bracket for a neat kitchen wall installation. However, it's impossible to use as it is, since all the socketry is on the back of the tv, pointing towards the wall. Not even the right-angled mains cable will fit in the space provided!

In the end I'm going to step the formerly low profile bracket out from the wall with battens, and hunt around for right angle plugs and adaptors. Coax and phono fine - but right-angle VGA seems difficult.

Must have been a bad batch..........2007-11-08

Initially all seemed good and was impressed by the picture, until... i noticed a weird grey flickering between areas of high contrast. Assumed it was my cheap Scart or my aging sky box until i noticed it when watching a DVD as well. It gradually got worse until it i saw it all the time so i sent the tv back for a replacement. Credit to Amazon this was done very quickly and recieved the replacement before i'd sent the faulty one back! Sadly, the replacement had the same problem, just a little worse. I then also noticed the appaling motion blur on panning shots. I've now returned that one and will be buying a Sony t3000 instead. should have done that in the first place.

I've owned this TV for about 6 months - bought as it was good value (£400) and took up loads less space than my old CRT.

The picture is great for the price, and the cabinet looks superb with its glossy piano black finish.

My only complaint is the weedy speakers - you really need to hook it up to an external amp and speakers - until then it drove me mad. Watching DVDs with the inbuilt speakers, I usually had to put the subtitles on otherwise speech was muffled (and no I'm not deaf!). But assuming you're not going to rely on the internal speakers it's a briliant buy.

Well, this is the 4th time I have tried to order a new LCD TV from Amazon being advertised by a Marketplace trader. Amazon should be embarrassed at the lack of professionalism and the damage being done to their corporate image and good name by these rogue traders tempting people in with false prices. This TV was advertised by "scalliwagsandrogues" as "In-Stock" and available for immediate dispatch from the UK for £250 (+ £11 P&P). I placed my order in good faith, but instead of the usual "Out of stock" LIE I was told that "the seller is temporarily unable to receive payment". Miraculously the item has now been removed, but I am sure it will reappear at a higher price. Why can't they just put up their hands and say "We can't sell you the item at this price 'cos someone screwed up. We realise that we are bound to sell at this price by the Sale of Goods Act, but we can refuse to sell at all, so that's what we're doing even though it looks bad to the public and errodes the good name of Amazon !" Much more acceptable than another LIE !!!!!!! Well, I'll keep looking as I do want a new TV, but I doubt I shall ever buy one from Amazon or it's partners. I shall keep placing orders when I see good bargains, and then writing sarcastic reviews when I am lied to about why the order cannot be honoured. Keep up the BAD work !

Wall mounting.......2007-07-31

Hi,
If you intend to wall mount this TV, you need to purchase a VESA wall mount plate. 200x100mm. This will fit to the back of the tv (in the pre-marked holes on the back of the set) and will allow for it to be attached to a wall mount.

I had the same problem, but investigating a little further brought up the VESA plate. I have managed to wall mount my set with no problems.

The picture on this TV is great. HOWEVER - the holes in the back of the TV do not match any standard bolt sizes making it almost impossible to wall mount. I'd call this a manufacturing defect - however Samsung "Customer Service" disagree.

My advice would be to look at a different brand if you intend wall mounting.

Stunning HD output... Shame about the sound though.......2007-06-13

This TV has *almost* all you could possibly wish for in a high definition LCD TV. HD output through HDMI is, to put it in a word, perfect. There is no horizontal shredding, frame rate is very high and smooth, and colours are as vivid and bright as they could be. High definition gaming is also a pleasure, and I'm amazed at just how pixel-perfect and high-resolution the images are! The screen is also perfect for use as a monitor. The response time is fast, and, yet again, colours are very vivid and realistic, perfect for photo presentations or slideshows, as well as computer games.

The built-in freeview is satisfactory, but the TV guide is very, very slow at times and sometimes is takes a good few seconds to switch channels. Once this has been endured, you're faced with picture quality that cannot even be compared with the TVs HD output. The picture can be fairly grainy or fuzzy, but hey, that's just what freeview is. The one thing is that the TV seems to require a separate freeview receiver if you wish to record shows to DVD, as it certainly isn't explained in the manual how to use the TVs built-in freeview receiver to connect to a DVD recorder and record from there. However, the freeview receiver is, overall, satisfactory.

The one thing that is a bit of a let down is the speaker system. Bass really is poor through the speakers, and they don't go loud enough by any stretch of the imagination, even in a quite small room. This doesn't seem to be a one-off, though, as many LCD TVs seem to have this problem because there isn't much room to squeeze the speakers into in the slim design of the screen.

Overal, though, this TV is well worth owning, and goes along well with the rest of the décor in the house thanks to its elegant and minimalisitic styling. Great for small to medium-sized rooms, this is a perfect TV for anyone looking for great HD output (as long as sound isn't a bother, or separate surround sound speakers are available for use with the TV). Well worth it and pleased, and if I was given the choice of whether or not to buy it over again, I would buy it again.

Worth every penny!.......2006-02-26

What can I say! This is an awesome set. I am using it as my head 'multimedia' display, and I mainly got it for my xBox 360.

It was very important to me that the screen was PC input compliant too, which this is.

It took a lot of fiddling (my fault) on getting the PC to display. My graphics card has DVI out, so I bought a DVI to HDMI cable, but it seems the set can't handle the extream digital picture this produces (or I was doing something wrong), so I ended up using the D-SUB connection instead (i.e. the same connection as I had on my previous 17" LG monitor.

The quality of the PC side of things is fantastic! Not as clear and crisp as my 17" LG was, but when you think how much res it has to cope with it's amazing (even through the ostensibly analogue connection that D-SUB is).

Dare I mention how amazing the xBox 360 looks through the screen on High-Def??! It's absolutely jaw-droppingly crisp.

The sound is pretty naff on the set, but it simply doesn't have the room for speakers that can pump out noise and bass, and I don't know about you, but I would rather have a set that looks as good as this one, with the picture as great as can be than for any sacrifice for enhanced sound. Particularly as you can easily hook your sound up to a 5.1 surround amp if you wanted.

I've rated this set as a top notch 5 star - worth every penny!

Sharp as toast.......2006-02-01

With mediocre broadcast SD you might not notice the difference so much but once you have decent quality transmission such as Sky, or run DVDs, you notice straight away how good this is. Cant wait for HD! I was tempted to buy the cheaper model, which was still pretty good, but this puppy has a super sharp picture and nice colour saturation, handles anything you throw in terms of movemeent etc. Remote is a bit ropey (no picture mode button for instance) and sound could be a bit more beefy but these are minor niggles. Overall I think the quality is as good as you'll get in an LCD.

Buy this tv.......2005-12-04

What Home Cinema mid size LCD TV test winner...had this for a couple of months now, it is an amazing HD ready tv and a bargain. Hooked up to my Denon 2910 with Kimber HDMI cable and pictures are outstanding. I cannot believe how cheap this is. The only downer is feeble sound but all my other equipment is connected to my amp so who cares. Now all I need to do is get an XBOX 360.

This TV was an excellent purchase at £299!

Connectivity is great, 3 scarts, 1 hdmi, 2 av, 1 component, dvi, vga(pc inputs), analog tuner and a digital tuner for freeview.

When connected to my ps3 it displays in crisp 720p and 1080i giving a clear colourful image.

I have yet to wall mount it but have read online that it is vesa standard 200x100.

Blu ray disc looks incredible, casino royale looks amazing.

Connected to my digital aerial i recieve 95 freeview channels including radio. Picture quality is great and has built in programme guide.

Overall an excellent TV for bedrooms but I would not reccomend for a living room, 32" or higher would be perfect.

Poor Value.......2007-10-11

I have two home cinema rear speakers weighing 6kg each and these brackets are not able to support them - the arm just bent over after fixing to the wall. I thought perhaps the product description was incorrect regarding the weight but it checks out with the packaging. At just under £20 they've very expensive too, so I would avoid these and go check something else out instead.

Good but please no more Imperial fixings!.......2007-10-05

The TV mount looks very good and the 15 degrees of tilt makes it the best TV mount for the price. Bargain at £20, however post and package was £10 but still at £30 a very good buy!!! The reason for only 3stars is that the TV mount is obviously not British and isn't in metric but imperial. At first I thought this would be no trouble, however I soon realised that the holes for the screw fixings needed to be 9.4mm or 3/8inch and because its hard to get imperial drill pieces nowadays the only option I had was 10mm. This meant the screw plugs provided were too small for the hole and so moved about. With the help of some no nails I managed to get the plugs not to move, and once everything was tightened up the TV mount was very solid. The TV mount is likely to be American and all I can say is GET WITH THE TIMES, who uses imperial nowadays. Overall a very cheap, strong and smart TV mount.

Does exactly what its meant to, sturdy fixings. everything included. mounted my 22" LG widescreen perfectly even allows a little adjustment if you can't put things up straight first time (like me).

Long screws, shallow holes.......2007-01-24

Upon fitting the bracket to my Toshiba 15 inch LCD TV, I found that the screws bottomed in the fixing holes of the tv, leaving a gap of about 4mm between the tv and the bracket.
This problem was very simply resolved, by the use of 4 rubber tap washers on the screws between the tv and the bracket.

LCD wall bracket.......2006-12-31

At 1/15th of the price of the Sony bracket I was very impressed by the kit both completeness (even came with different size screws as some TV's require 3mm and some 4mm), simplicity of installation and robustness. My LCDTV on the wall 15 minutes after the bracket came through the letterbox!

If you want to mount a flatscreen close to the wall with no swivel or movement, then this is for you-a good bit of kit.
