Does what it says on the tin.......2007-12-10

The bracket does as advertised. I recently purchased one to mount a 46in Sony Bravia LCD weighing 41kg. Delivery was exceptionally quick, item was well packaged.

The instructions where easy enough to follow. Measuring the wall for the ideal location being the only time consuming part.

It's worth noting that accuracy with getting the initial markings level is key, but minor deviations from true-level can be accounted for as the bracket slots are slightly larger than the supplied coach-bolts and so do allow for some post fixing levelling.

The mechanism for tilting works well and the supplied knobs are sufficient to lock the TV in position once the ideal angle is found.

The bracket IS deep as stated elsewhere in other reviews, and the TV does protrude from the wall quite significantly. While this does allow access to the sockets on the back of the TV, some could class this as unsightly.

I would suggest going for a fixed bracket if you absolutely HAVE to have the TV close to the wall (one that does not allow angle adjustment) if you can get the TV to a comfortable viewing angle, and if you plan to channel into the wall for the cabling. I did look into other brackets in order to get the TV closer to the wall, but the inability to angle the unit and the requirement to channel the walls was not appealing to me.

In any case, this is such a good price for a solidly built product, that if you decide later to change, you've not lost a stack of cash.

Do not expect a lot from the supplied bracket bolts. None of the sizes where appropriate for the Bravia and I had to find replacements at a local ironmongers, with the length of the bolt proving the main problem.

Overall, I am very pleased with the bracket and it is definitely excellent value for money.

I did mess up 2 of the holes, but it should not matter as 6 screws is for the 55 inch, 4 should be enough for a 40 inch LCD.

Though for the SONY I simply used the screws for the standing mount, they fitted, and they appeared to be good screws, to hold the part that goes on the television.

I did it without any help, even to lift the LCD.

Superb service! Ordered on 31st October, took delivery on 1st November! Online tracking with City Link was useful too. Product does exactly what it says on the tin! Straight-forward to setup, had it on the wall in no time. Sturdy design with strong fixings. Holds up my Panasonic TH42PX70 plasma display absolutely perfectly. That's 42" and roughly 38KG. At this price it's a no-brainer. I will definately be back if/when i purchase another display for another room. ABSOLUTE BARGAIN! Manny Sandhu.

HEAVY DUTY WALL MOUNT AT A GREAT PRICE.......2007-09-21

I was drawn to this mount by its fantastic price and by the fact that all reviewers were full of praise. I was not to be disappointed.

The mount is heavy duty and well made; no rough or unfinished edges, and it is simple to mount to the wall using the coach screws (supplied). When it has been secured in place then two brackets attach to the rear of your tv, and they provide a range of screws to accommodate a wide range of tvs. That done then you simple hook the tv onto the wall plate (best to use two people so that you can not only share the weight but can see from each side that the hooks are properly in place before you let go) and secure two screws underneath to prevent the tv from being knocked off the wall plate. Then you plug in your cables (scart to DVD player etc.) and adjust the viewing angle (you have + or - 15 degrees to play with) and voila...job done!

Note that you will need: a spirit level (to ensure that the wall plate is fixed plumb on the wall); a 12mm masonry drill bit (to drill the holes for the large wall plugs that are provided -- check that there are no electric wires nearby. If they are then you will need an electric cable detector. I would also suggest drilling small pilot holes first using a smaller bit, say a 6mm or 7mm bit); an electric drill with a chuck large enough to hold the large masonry drill bit (a battery drill is unlikely to have sufficient power to drill such large holes in masonry); and a socket set (to screw in the coach bolts). An alun key is provided which is to be used for screwing in the two bottom screws that prevent the tv from being unhooked. Ideally a screwdriver with an alun bit makes this task easier but it is not essential.

If you intend to mount the bracket to a stud wall then you will need to ensure that you drill into the uprights, which are usually placed 16 inches apart. You can use a tracker for this but you will still need to ensure that you are screwing into the middle of the upright and I would suggest that you use a fine nail and hammer to make pilot holes so that you can be sure you are finding the dead centre. Remember the bracket and tv are heavy and you would not wish to see the whole thing plummet to the ground! And take care that you are not hammering nails or screwing screws into electric cables and/or water pipes!

It may all sound complicated but the bracket comes with full instructions and diagrams and it really is a breeze to fit!

It's a heavy duty item at a truly amazing price. Don't look any further, you'll not find better value anywhere!

Not Quite Perfect.......2008-01-02

This wall Bracket is very sturdy, but it does have a couple of issues you should be aware of before purchase; Firstly the fitting kit is imperial so won't fit U.K drill bits, this is easily solved by a trip to Homebase to buy metric versions of the wall bolts (£3.99 for five - the kit comes with six); secondly the bottom of the hanging bracket is secured with a fitted bolt, on my bracket the bottom of the arm was not at right angles to the vertical section (a manufacturing flaw ? or just on the wall bracket I was sent?)making it impossible to fully tighten the bolt.
Still overall the bracket holds my Sony KDL32V2000 securely to the wall and at just under £20 (+ £4 for the right bolts) is £176 cheaper than the genuine Sony item !
