Predictably poor.......2006-12-16
Essentially, this program used to generate PDF files, should be without flaws. The concept to combining pictures, documents etc and making comments seemlessly in one file, is an ability which must be respected in this age of computing and all its incompatibilities.
However, Adobe software is notoriously unstable. Even the Reader with this program crashed frequently. I'm not sure why exactly this is, maybe Adobe themselves know. There seems to be endless problems with existing version 5,6 files. But two things are for sure. This version 8 is very unreliable to the business user and far far too expensive, especially when there are sister prorams from other companies which do the job much better.

WOW!.......2008-01-11
this is probably one of the best iPod sound systems for this amount of money. i am really impressed with it as the sound quality is amazing, its very stylish, and has variable treble/bass EQ, which some other products do not have. a must buy for all, whatever your favourite genre of music

BANG!.......2007-08-02
Good sound, good style, bad fires. I had these for 2 days when I went to use them on the 2nd day I was greeted by a odd sound followed by a bang and lots of smoke. I was able to yank the plug out before it got any worse and I seriously think it would have caught fire if I had left it. The speakers are now totally trashed and its just luckily that I hadn't put my iPod in it yet. I've had other ones in the range so maybe this was just a defective one but I'm very unimpressed with it.
Extremely Temperamental.......2007-07-17
I saw the reviews on this and other websites for this speaker set and, being a sucker for gimmicky gadgets such as the LCD screen on this, I ordered it. Little did I know how disappointed in the system I would be.
Upon opening and setting up the speakers everything seemed fine. The music sounded well, the LCD screen while not especially useful was working well and I was pleased in general.
Two hours later I decided I wanted to play a podcast I had downloaded so I turned the iPod on, hit menu to go back to the music menu and then the iStation forced the iPod to jump back to where it was previously. However, it did not go back properly which resulted in the LCD screen continually reading "Connecting..." and the iPod itself was going between screens of "Ok to Disconnect" and the first track alphabetically in my song library. To fix this problem I had to disconnect the iStation from the mains and leave it for a rather large amount of time as short periods merely resulted in repeats of the same problems. Problems also occurred when trying to use the station to synchronise as this seemed to confuse the unit and make it unusable until it "rested."
The remote control also seems extremely unresponsive, resulting in the volume turning to maximum due to you thinking it did not pick up your first few requests to turn it up slightly (I hope that makes sense.)
Like another reviewer perhaps I merely got a faulty set but I would personally recommend looking for an alternative as this was a huge disappointment.
Not great.......2007-04-22
I did a lot of research before buying these speakers.
My initial problem with these speakers were that they would pick up song information from my Nano but not my video ipod. I spoke to the Logic3 helpdesk who gave me advice (reluctantly) to upgrade to itunes 7. This didn't make a lot of sense as my Nano wasn't updated on itunes 7 but I really wanted it to work so I did the upgrade. It didn't make a difference so then he said I had to do a restore of the video ipod and all would be fine (this needs to work in order for the remote control to work properly!). I did the resore, it worked - yipee I thought - and then it stopped working. I decided to keep the speakers anyway as they bare a nice size and give a reasonably good sound and all the extra connections that persuaded me to buy them in the first place.
I bought the speakers primarily for use in my office and on occassional trips. Usage has been gentle, plugged in for a maximum of 10 - 12 hours per day, playing for maybe 5 or 6 of those, unplugged and put away each night. I've had them for about 6 months and last week they stopped working. Well almost - they still charge my ipod but that isn't really good enough! I called Logic 3 and to be fair they have said if I send them back they will replace them..... I'll do that but they will need to perform a bit better if I'm to keep them. Maybe I just got a bad set.... I'll let you know!

The EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM is the first true Macro lens in the EF-S series. A dynamic, compact, fast-focusing lens providing dramatic detail that goes beyond the human eye.
Up close
With its ability to focus life-size images onto the image sensor, the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM offers true macro performance in the EF-S lens series. Having an effective focal length of approximately 96mm in 35mm format, it produces breathtaking close-up results. A minimum focusing distance of just 20cm gets you super close to your subject, filling your frame only with the subject detail you require.
A world in miniature
The EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM works in harmony with EF-S mount EOS cameras to let you explore an exciting new photographic dimension. Nature photographers will delight in the ability to capture the intricate beauty of tiny features. With capacity to reproduce an image on the sensor that is as large as the subject itself, you take your audience inside a magnificent miniature world.
Background blur
Portrait photographers will enjoy working with the large aperture, which narrows depth of field and creates beautiful background blur, making your subject stand out with dramatic effect.
Travelling light
The EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM adds enormous versatility to your kit while adding little weight. Its near-silent Ultra Sonic Motor (USM) provides super-fast precision auto-focusing with full-time manual override.
Resolution and quality
Over 60 years of optical engineering heritage have gone into producing a lens that delivers exacting picture quality standards. Canon lens technologies combine to produce high corner-to-corner resolution, brightness, contrast and balanced colour reproduction, throughout all focusing distances.
Built for digital
Designed specifically for digital photography, the lens has specially shaped lens elements with Super Spectra coatings to suppress ghosting and flare, which can be caused by reflections off a digital camera sens

FAB! Buy one now!.......2007-06-30
This is a fantastic lens. I was originally looking at some other cheaper makes but so dam glad I parted with the extra money (which in truth was not that much more).
As the others write, the lens is Sharpe and very salient. A silly little thing which I really like is the fact you can have the autofocus setting on and still be able to manually help it a little without the usual horrible noise from the motor sounding like you're about to severely damage it. No idea if this is really allowed or not but seems not to damage it and allows me to get that required picture much faster.
In short, another happy owner of this lens. If you want to see some pics taken with it go to www.flickr.com/photos/marcoastesiano where you can see some quick snaps of some fruit and the best is the matches. Notice the detail. The 60mm allows you to be at a good distance to take them.
Great lens!!
Nearly Perfect!!.......2007-05-23
The EF-S 60mm macro lens is fantastic, I have been using it for 9 months now and am so glad I bought it. Pictures have a wonderful level of sharpness and detail and the bokeh (aesthetic quality of out of focus areas) is outstanding! My only critisicm is that after using it for a while I find myself wishing that I had spent more money and bought the EF 100mm Macro 2.8 as the workable range would have been much higher, allowing me to get closer whilst being further away. Also an EF lens is more future-proof as it can be used on cropped sensor (400d/20d etc.) AND full-frame cameras (5D etc.) Overall though the lens produces lovely pictures and gives you a different perspective to your photography!
Macro heaven for not much moolah!.......2006-12-09
I've had this lens a few days now and had the opportunity to do a few sessions with it and am very, very pleased with the results.
The lens feels solid and well built, heavy enough without being too much.
This lens has an EF-S mount so has been designed specifically with the Canon range of digital cameras in mind such as 300D, 350D and the new 400D which I currently have this lens hooked up to. The lens is not suitable for Canon's 1D and 5D but I'm guessing if you afford one of those you'll likely own the 180mm macro 'L' lens ;)
Auto focus is good and fast in good light and the lens length does not change during focusing. There is provision on the front to attach a ring flash for real close macro work too. There is a distance indicator scale on the lens barrel and also a full time manual focus ring. Excellent!
The results from the lens are simply stunning. Clarity is unbelievable from my 400D. Focal length equates to 96mm because of the 1.6x crop factor of the sensor allowing 1:1 size shots and boy do they show the detail!
The lens focuses as close as 9cm for the full 1:1 macro and whilst this is fine for inanimate objects it may be tricky to release the full potential of the lens if taking shots of wildlife such as small insects for example. This is where I think a remote control shutter release would be a godsend as you can set the camera up and step away to avoid disturbing your subject - that's next on my list!
I've not had the chance to use it as such yet but by all accounts the lens works very well as a portrait lens and I can see no reason to disbelieve what I've read on various forums. In fact it may even lose you a few friends as the lens is so sharp it shows up e-v-e-r-y detail! A bit of soft focus tinkering in Photoshop may be in order for human portrait shots!
Have a look on my flickr profile (brainleek007) at the shots of the workings of a pocketwatch if you're in any doubt as to the quality of the lens.
Very highly recommended and the Amazon price is around £[...] cheaper than well known high street photography stores.
Sharp enough to make your eyes bleed.......2006-05-01
I bought this lens along with my eos 350D( it doesnt work with normal eos cameras as it is EF-S). The lens is very well made and as it is USM is silent and fast when focussing, which by the way is entirely internal( ie there is no change in length of the lens when focusing). The pictures are very, very sharp and the bokeh is brillant. Try it out and see- i can assure you that you wont be disappointed. It is also relatively small. As there is a 1.6 magnification in canon digital is actually works out to be 96 mm macro. This lens is really worth it- the only detractors are people who also use the normal eos full frame cameras. It is an excellent macro and potrait lens. This should have been a L lens.

I've now bought three, so I must like it.......2008-01-27
I spent years thinking digital photo frames were tacky and overpriced. I mean, what's wrong with a laptop screen saver? But the old parents don't HAVE a laptop, so I got them this. And it looked so good, I had to get one for my office, then for my wife.
WHy isn't it 5 stars? Well, the menus are a little awkward; and it doesn't come up running when you switch it on - you have to press a couple of buttons, so less than ideal for the wrinklies.
But generally, I'm delighted at seeing hundreds of my favourite photos rotating round while I wage-slave away for the man, shackled to my laptop.
Appalling Manual, software may not be much better! .......2008-01-23
Is it possible to have the photo change more smoothly when in a slideshow, instead of the way they scroll at the moment?
Mixed Feelings.......2008-01-14
I recently purchased this frame for my dad who is a keen photographer. I was expecting something fantastic and instead am somewhat dissapointed instead.
There are some key problems with this frame:
It has no internal storage or hard drive which means you can only view images on whichever memory card you have connected at one time.
As soon as you remove the card, the images cannot be seen.
This caused another problem, in that the frame looks great, and is clearly spoiled by a big ugly memory card sticking out of the side.
The manual might as well be in martian, its pretty poor but you can soon work out the basics on your own.
The remote is essential as the back buttons are totally rubbish and hard to remeber what each does.
You cannot connect a USB to USB to your PC which is a great shame. This means I have to copy files from my computer to the memory card first (lucky I brought an adapter seperatly), then stick that in the frame.
The quality is very good, though sometimes theres a lot of unnecessary border. Annoyingly pictures load like an old dial up internet connection, ie in pixels, before finally settling down to look normal.
You can only display a pic for up to 3 minutes, when an hour would have been a better choice.
To summarise, what a shame. It feels like Linx have either rushed this device or made it on the cheap. The software is poor, lack of hard drive dissapointing and manual rubbish.
However when you get it working its very good and nice to listen to an MP3 in the background, though a bit pointless.
You can also connect directly to your TV with the leads provided, and theres a euro connector for trips to Spain.
Good but could be better.
For the price this is just a stunning product.......2008-01-12
I have read the various criticisms, in the other reviews, But I and my wife(it was one of her christmas presents) love it.
I bought one on behalf of a friend (he saw mine and askedme to get one for him)
and he was very pleased, he had bought it for his grandfather, and his first comment was "it is so easy to use!"
Yes, there are shortcomings, but only if comparing it to units 50 -100 percent more expensive!
The battery was one of the pluses that I did not expect- my wife has taken it into work to show her friends.
Thanks to Digital cameras, we now take more photos than ever, but most of them are rarely viewed.
My wife has set up several folders with her favourite groups of photos- grandchildren, holidays, etc. to suit her mood, and watches Jamie Oliver videos in the kitchen, from a USB drive!
Clear, crisp images - just what you want!.......2008-01-11
Despite the fact that the manual is almost incomprehensible and was, I think, written by a Womble, the controls aren't too complex to work out and my 85-yr-old father and I had it all figured out in about 15 minutes or so. Basically, once you switch it on use the remote control for everything else. It's really very easy. The overall product is lovely - a great, clear picture and fabulous colours. My father is loving it and I'm so glad I chose it for him for Christmas. His favourite feature is the fact that it can either work on mains or batteries, so he is able to take it to friends to show off his beautiful pictures. In summary, great product, bad manual. Would definitely recommend it, especially for the price.

8 PORT 10/100 SWITCH
Customer Reviews:
Set-up in 10 min??.......2007-03-08
I wasn't sure about buying this. It looked bland & cheap but we really needed an 8 port switch so I bit the bullet & ordered it thinking I could 'hide' it.
It arrived 1 day after dispatch (earlier than estimated) so a good result there. I took it out of the box and, to my surprise, it was a nice shade of White. So I took it over to where our old hub is, unplugged the network cables & plugged them into the ports of the new hub and plugged in the router and print server. Then connected it to the mains where all the lights lit up Too easy, I thought). I tested all of our pc's and everything worked fine. No setup or anything. Done in the same time it takes to read this. Brill! Simple!
The case is quite sturdy and the style looks very sleek and stylish. The main thing for me is that the port numbers on the front panel are large enough to see at a distance. When lit, the numbers are a nice shade of green. It seems to be well worth the money and I recommend its ease of setup.
The box says 10 to 15 mins setup but that must include drinking a cup of tea!
Good hub - no need to worry about upload port........2006-01-25
The great thing about this hub is that it automatically configures the upload port so all you need to do is plug in the ethernet cables to any port without worrying about leaving one port free.
Also it is a lot cheaper than more fancy looking hubs.
Does what it says.......2004-09-03
It's hard to review a hub... It either does what it's meant to or it doesn't. I'm pleased to say that I've had my Netgear 8 port hub running for a month now and it does exactly what it says on the box. Packets fly through the hub from one machine on my network to another.
The housing itself is pleasant enough (silvery plastic) and it has a bunch of green LEDs to denote active connections. Otherwise it is a pretty non-descript affair. My only gripe would be that (in common with many devices) it has a chunk DC adaptor to go with it. Lot's of mobile phones have slim adaptors and it's high time the trend caught on with others including hubs.
