This is a useful bit of hardware, particularly if you have either a computer or other equipment using USB power. The mains adaptor is rated at 1000mA but is smaller and lighter than the charger provided with the phone. The cable I received is not as shown on the photo - it winds onto a reel - and extends to about 60cm.

The equipment provides the option to either charge the phone from USB or power other equipment from the USB socket on the charger.

And it works fine with the Samsung C170, which also has the new style smaller connector.
